Our trip to Cabelas

So since Kaylan decided to go Elk hunting with his brother and step-father John this year, he thinks that we need to watch hunting on the TV 24 hours a day. Who knew there was a channel were this is indeed even possible but alas it is true. So why not add to the fun and take a trip to Cabelas. It actually is a pretty cool store with tons for the kids to look at. While Kaylan wanders aimlessly around all the guns, ammo and elk calls we can wander around and look at all the animals. Katies favorite part was feeding the fish and for some reason she was enthralled with all the stuffed bears. Bradley just sort of tagged alongside Kay as he thinks that he is getting his own gun and going hunting with him. We'll just have to see about that. The funniest part of the trip was when they decided to demonstrate some elk calls and Katie was convinced that the animals in the store were really not dead but alive and stuck to their spots with glue. She then decided to do some elk calling of her own and let out some of the highest pitch screams I have ever heard and probably 20 people turned to look at us.

That's great! I love Cabella's, and I have seriously thought about taking my daycare kids on a field trip to the store. I think they would have just as much fun as they do at the zoo, and it wouldn't cost as much.

Jen, I am not impressed with your idea.

It is funny the things that kids find so entertaining.

That is hilarious! And I love the song on your blog...I didn't know many people even knew the band.

Well, I have to say that I always enjoy wandering around Bass Pro Shop. The Cabella's is way out on the other side of Phoenix about an hour from us, so we go to Bass Pro Shop.

When we lived in Las Vegas it was right up our street. We used to go there just to play in the shooting gallery. They also have NASCAR cars that you can virtually race. It's a good time.

Jen, do it. The kids would love it. And it is climate controlled!
